570 km of railway have been overhauled this year

In 2024, railway workers have planned to renew more than 1400 km of the main line, of which 570 km are major, with a complete replacement of the track superstructure. To date, major works have been completed in all regions.

"At the same time, work on enhanced medium and medium track repairs continues on the KTZ network. Railway workers are carrying out work on the continuous replacement of rail supports, track gauge and other preventive measures," said Berik Biyatov, Chief Manager of the Track and Structures Department of the branch of NC KTZ JSC - Trunk Network Directorate. 

Systematic work on track repair is aimed at ensuring the safety of rail transportation. In the context of increasing freight traffic, the need for track repairs is growing every year. In the event of a revision of railway tariffs, KTZ intends to increase the volume of repairs annually.

In total 11000 km of railway is planned to be renewed by 2029.
