In the coming winter, KTZ will use 281 units of specialized equipment to clear railway tracks of snow: snow removal and snow clearing machines, rotary snow blowers.

All vehicles have undergone scheduled repairs. A record volume of major repairs was carried out over the past three years - 108 units of equipment. To date, all machines have been run-in and prepared for work in winter conditions.

Special equipment is distributed throughout the railway network so that it can be used effectively during heavy snowfalls and blizzards to clear tracks, turnouts and snow removal. Most of it is concentrated in especially snow-covered regions: Kokshetau, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Karaganda, Semipalatinsk and Aktobe. The total length of imported sections along the entire trunk network is about 2000 km.

Clearing railway tracks of snow is one of the most important tasks in ensuring train safety.
