National carrier installs 1,350 CCTV cameras on trains

JSC "Passenger Transportation" has completed the installation of a video surveillance system in 24 Talgo trains. A total of 1,350 cameras have been installed, which provide round-the-clock monitoring of the situation inside the trains.

The video surveillance system covers the most vulnerable areas of the trains: carriages, entrances and exits, as well as common areas. This allows for prompt monitoring of the situation, prevention of offenses, minimization of cases of transportation of passengers without tickets and quick response to any incidents.
 

Information from the video surveillance cameras is available only to authorized persons in the situation center of the National Carrier. Since the launch of the project, rolling stock has been constantly monitored, and video materials are used for an objective investigation of passenger complaints.

It is worth noting that the National Carrier is already carrying out preparatory work to equip all standard carriages with a video surveillance system.
 

In addition, the National Carrier is considering solutions for the implementation of a video analytics system and access to the video surveillance system in real time, by launching the Internet in passenger trains.

Let us recall that the Internet has already been launched in pilot mode on train No. 3/4 Astana-Almaty, which will make it possible to monitor what is happening in real time through video surveillance.

The video analytics system will not only allow monitoring the situation in trains by automating data processing processes, but also use artificial intelligence to analyze the video stream, identify potential threats and prevent incidents before they occur.
