The national carrier will provide an additional 53,000 seats for passengers during the New Year holidays

To meet increased passenger demand, the National Carrier is launching additional trains during the winter period. These trains will carry approximately 23,000 passengers. The additional services will be operated on the following routes:

• No. 201/202 "Almaty-2 – Astana-1"
Departures from Almaty: December 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, and 30, 2025, and January 2 and 4, 2026.
Departures from Astana: December 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, and 31, 2025, and January 3 and 5, 2026.

• No. 203/204 "Astana Nurly Zhol - Shymkent"
Departures from Astana: December 20, 23, 26, 29, 2025 and January 2, 2026.

Departures from Shymkent: December 22, 25, 28, 30, 2025 and January 4, 2026.
• No. 257/258 "Aktobe - Astana Nurly Zhol"

Departures from Aktobe: December 20, 23, 26, 29, 2025 and January 2, 2026.
Departures from Astana: December 22, 24, 28, 30, 2025 and January 4, 2026.

The trains will include standard compartment and reserved seat carriages. Additionally, 584 additional trailers will be added to existing trains on popular routes, providing over 30,000 additional seats.

Tickets are available for purchase on the official website at https://bilet.railways.kz/. The national carrier recommends passengers plan their travel in advance and purchase tickets well in advance, as New Year's dates are traditionally in high demand.

If tickets are unavailable at the time of purchase, passengers can use the free "Waiting List" service. This service allows passengers to secure a seat when one becomes available; the system automatically notifies passengers via their personal account or text message. This service is available through the website and ticket offices; reservations can be made no earlier than 7 days and no later than 2 hours before train departure.
