The head of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy initiated the creation of a special commission to investigate the incident on the Moiynty-Shyganak section

On December 10, 2025, at 5:15 PM, on the Moiynty-Shyganak section, on the Sheshenkara-Karazhangyl stretch, a freight train driver applied emergency braking. A track crew at Saryshagan station was performing scheduled rail replacement work in the area of ​​the track.

Despite all necessary measures taken, the accident could not be prevented. Four workers sustained life-threatening injuries.

To establish all the circumstances and causes of the incident, a special commission was established by order of the Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC KTZ, headed by the Chief Engineer of JSC NC KTZ and consisting of the management of KTZ-Freight Transportation LLP and the Main Network Directorate. The commission promptly traveled to the scene to conduct an investigation.
