The Ombudsmen of the “Samruk-Kazyna” fund group discussed issues of the development of the human rights institute in JSC "NC" KTZ"


In JSC "NC" KTZ" discussed issues of increasing the efficiency of activities and strengthening the role of the ombudsman institute in the "Samruk-Kazyna” group of companies.

The discussion was held in the format of a round table chaired by Beibit Zhusupov, the corporate ombudsman of JSC "NC" KTZ ". The participants of the event, ombudsmen of all portfolio companies of the Fund, were given a great opportunity to exchange experience, understanding the tasks facing the human rights institute, and implement the powers to protect the rights and interests of employees.

B. Zhusupov, noted the importance of the of the ombudsman institute in ensuring stability in the work collective, creating conditions for the successful accomplishment of the tasks facing the company.

"In the JSC" NC "KTZ" the post of corporate ombudsman was introduced in 2013. In his work, the ombudsman is guided by a Regulation based on the recommendations of the International association of corporate ombudsmen and approved by the Board of directors of the company, "B. Zhusupov said.

He told about the priority directions of work. This is the consideration of complaints from employees and clients of the company about violations of their rights and interests, prevention of violations of employees' rights, implementation of the provisions of the new Labor Code locally.

Annually the corporate ombudsman receives about 80 appeals, and more than 40 applications are considered at departures to regional divisions.

The result of the painstaking many months work of the ombudsman was the abolition by the Ministry of Health of the order to limit the access to work of the train drivers and assistants to machinists with hypertension I and II degrees without a crisis current. Due to this, the threat of dismissal of about 2 thousand highly skilled railway workers was removed.

On the initiative of the ombudsman, amendments were made to the Collective Agreement, local acts, which allowed increasing the measures of social support for the company's employees.

During the round table, the need to raise the status of a corporate ombudsman, strengthen the role of a human rights institute was noted.
