Approaches to eliminate technical barriers between the railway administrations of the countries of EAEU discussed in KTZ

December 21 - Meeting on development of normative and technical documentation for use on public transport railways of the EAEU Member Countries - Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia was held at Kazakhstan Railways.

"Over the years, the Working Group has become an effective platform for exchanging experience and discussing topical issues in the application of advanced technologies and innovations in the production, maintenance and repair of railway products," says Batyr Kotyrev, chief engineer of KTZ.

He also adds that "the Working Group is an important tool for exchanging information on the development of regulatory and technical documentation, harmonization of requirements for products, processes, services provided in accordance with the requirements of international and national standards."

As Kotyrev stressed, "the measures taken in the field of technical regulation and metrology contribute to the elimination of technical barriers, the solution of topical issues in the organization of transportation processes, ensuring traffic safety, as well as compatibility and interchangeability of products and technological processes."

At the meeting of the Working Group a decision was made to expand the membership of the association and to join the current agreement of the State Enterprise  National Company "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu" and CJSC "South Caucasus Railways".

The document approved the procedure for implementing the Agreement, Regulation on the Working Group and procedure for the organization of information exchange of documents in the field of technical regulation and metrology between the Parties.

The meeting discussed the results of work on the development of normative and technical documents in the field of standardization for 2017, and also considered plans for 2018.

The jubilee twentieth meeting of the Working Group on the development of normative and technical documentation for use on public transport in Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia will be completed on December 22 this year.
