The first container train which delivered the Kazakh grain to the Turkish Mersin is coming back

November 28, container train arrived from Mersin (Turkey) which was send from Kokshetau station to the Mersin port via new railway Baku-Tbilisi-Kars.

As it was informed earlier, in the beginning of November from the Kazakhstan station Kokshetau the container structure train with the tared grain consisting of thirty 20-foot containers belonging to JSC NC KTZ went to Mersin. The train covered a distance of 5,435 kilometers in 10 days, passed through the ferry port Kuryk - Alyat port in the Caspian Sea, then on the newly Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line.

In the solemn ceremony of sending the train took part the governor of Mersin, deputies, heads of the Turkish railways, customs authorities, transport companies.

The participants of the ceremony noted the importance of the project for the countries-participants of TITR, and Turkey in particular, and also expressed high interest in the export of Turkish cargoes to China through the territory of Kazakhstan.

"The demand for a comprehensive service of multimodal services is growing," said N. Alpysbekov, representative of KTZ Express JSC, and explained that "the main advantage of the route is the shortening of terms of goods delivery up to 10 days and a competitive transportation price."
